On Sunday I walked from my apartment on Martel Ave, up Runyon Canyon to Mulholland Drive, all the way along that road to Laurel Canyon and then down. I’m guessing that was about five or six miles, and yes, it was far longer than I’d anticipated. I do that sort of thing all the time and end up on these epic enterprises. Anyone who knows Laurel Canyon understands how ridiculously dangerous walking it is, especially at the top where there are long, twisting segments completely devoid of anything resembling a shoulder. And the way some people hug those curves…
Like I say, anyone who’s driven it knows how dangerous it is. I, on the other hand, have never driven it.
Lesson learned.
Still, it was fun.
