I survive the day today at Amoeba. Just barely. For some reason I’m gripped by a ravaging hunger and a muscle consistency like that of under-cooled Jell-o. Wait. I say that like I’ve forgotten that I awoke this morning at nine, that I went to bed just five hours before that, that somewhere between then […]

Still rooting through old stuff, deciding what to throw out, what to frame and what to burn. In one box I discover my old Western Digital Caviar 2170 hard drive. The capacity? 170 Megs. My current hard drive could hold 147 of these. And that was my big drive. My smaller drive was 80 Megs. […]

Recently, I have an epiphany. Raisins, I realize, are not my favorite food. Hot upon the heels of that one I have another: I have too many things. And I’m acting on that epiphany. I drag five garbage bags full of clothing out of my closet. I drop them at the donation site on Santa […]

I sit in front of Groundwork and sip the coffee that Anya served up for me in honor of tomorrow’s birthday. I prop the camera on top of the coffee cup and snap a series of photos of the workplace. After taking two or three decent ones, a guy walks past. Sees me hit the […]

I want to post on a subject that the latest issue of Utne Reader explores a bit this month, which is the question of how we, as human beings, live our lives day to day with the full realization that we will one day die. I want to write about how I’m both terrifed and […]

Last Thursday I make the trek up to San Francisco. Rather than go into detail about the whole venture, I’ll offer you the two extremes and let you fill in the rest. The first pic is taken during the trip up. Were this drive competing in the Olympics in the “Most Annoying Thing Ever” event, […]
I’ve got work to do. I’m trying to assemble a cool mix disc and I’ve got very little time in which to do it. But I want to share four quick pics. the first is one I take on Sunday: Pretty much sums it up, no? I get a fix-it ticket for not having a […]
Just thought you all might be interested in a few random snapshots. I’m on my dinner break on Wednesday. It’s rush hour. As always at this time of day there’s a ton of activity in the neighborhood. So I wander around in the ninety-degree heat and click away. This is looking down from the CNN […]
